Software Development Curriculum Launched

Dear SEDC Member Investors:

We are pleased to announce a new collaboration with StartFast Code to support the delivery of the intensive StartFast Code software development curriculum to the Capital Region via collaboration across the entire training-to-employment ecosystem. More details on this multi-module curriculum, scheduled to be offered beginning in September 2017, will be made available at a technology focused skills development and professional networking event on July 27th between 6:30 pm & 8:30 pm at the Empire State College, 113 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY. At this event, experts and professionals in software development will be on-hand to provide guidance and share experiences and advice.

Please consider your needs for employees well versed in technology that is foundational to applications from web applications to mobile applications to Internet of Things systems. Javascript, Express, Nodes.js, among other software technologies, are foundational to the way our digitally interconnected world works. Those reinventing their careers, as well as promising students apt to pursue careers in software development, digital technologies, gaming, or similar fields, who are prepared to be trained for those job opportunities, would be great candidates for StartFast Code.

P.S. – Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what others are saying:

“JavaScript is the most widely deployed language in the world. It’s on every mobile device, every desktop, and many servers. In our world it’s used to render game clients, deliver content, and perform back end calculations. It’s embedded in every game console and over-the-top device. It’s not a stretch to say that at this point every developer must know JavaScript. It’s table stakes. If you’ve never programmed before, JavaScript is a great first introduction to the world of development.”

– Brian Corrigan, Managing Partner, MadGlory Interactive

“Working at NodeSource, I’ve realized just how important JavaScript is to business – from the smallest startups to 100% of the Fortune 500 companies, JavaScript and Node.js have commonly become mission-critical to successful business. JavaScript and Node.js enable rapid iteration and universal development, with the lowest barriers to entry of any modern programming language, and the largest ecosystem. Investing in learning JavaScript is investing in learning the foundation of the platforms and tools – Node.js, React.js, Express.js, Serverless, IoT, and more – that power the connected world we live in today and the ones that are going to power the world tomorrow.”

– Tierney Cyren, Developer Advocate, NodeSource
